India is marking its fourth anniversary of the never seen before ‘Surgical strike’ that the Indian Army carried out as a befitting reply to the Uri attack.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday in his radio programme ‘Mann ki Baat’ recalled this day and said that four years back around this time, the world witnessed courage, bravery and valour of our soldiers during the surgical strike. Our brave soldiers had just one mission and goal-to protect the glory and honour of the country at any cost. They did not care for their lives at all. They kept moving on the line of duty and we all witnessed how they returned victorious.

The Indian Army took all its mighty on the night of September 27-28 in 2016 to destroy all the terror launchpads in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir as a response to Pakistan-based terror attack on an army base in Kashmir’s Uri on September 18 in which we lost 19 bravehearts.

The Surgical Strike was carried out under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the then Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar and National Security Adviser (NSA) Ajit Doval.

The massive action plan was carried out under the guidance of NSA Ajit Doval. The strike took place on the night of September 27-28 in 2016 where Indian Army successfully shot down 45 terrorists and destroyed their camps and six launchpads. One Indian army soldier lost his life in the operation.
