Bengaluru: The inaugural passing-out parade of 153 female Agniveer Air Force cadets marked a significant milestone in the history of Indian defence. They completed four months of rigorous training under the Agnipath scheme. These women, a source of national pride, showcased their skills along with male cadets in a grand parade held at the Airmen Training School in Belagavi, Karnataka.
A total of 2280 Agniveer Vayu cadets, comprising both men and women, successfully completed a 22-week training program. This batch represents the second set of Agniveervayu trainees. The passing-out parade was in the presence of Air Marshal Radhakrishnan Radhish.
Addressing the gathering, Air Marshal R. Radhish emphasised the need for heightened global security measures and urged the cadets to bravely confront emerging challenges. He underscored the importance of imposing combat training and military preparation to achieve military objectives.
Upon completing the Agniveer training, cadets will be appointed for a tenure of four years, with the option to extend their service for an additional four years. Subsequently, 25 percent of Agniveers are selected to join the regular army, while the remaining 75 percent receive specialised support, including skills certificates and job search assistance.
