Panaji [Goa]; The 51st International Film Festival kickstarted in Goa today evening with enthralling cultural performances.
The opening ceremony of India’s biggest and Asia’s oldest film festival has been hosted by Actor-author-Producer Tisca Chopra. The function also saw the precious presence of eminent film maker Priyadarshan and Actor Sudeep along with other prominent film personalities.
Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar and Chief Minister of Goa Shri Pramod Sawant were also present in the function among other dignitaries.
Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minster said that 600 International entries and 190 Indian entries have been received this year, reflecting the huge importance the world attaches to it, said the Minister. He also announced that in the occasion of 100th birth anniversary of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, India & Bangladesh are together making a film titled ‘Bangabandhu’.
