Washington [US]: OTT platform Netflix has announced that one of their 2020 series ‘Bridgerton’ has emerged to be their biggest series ever with about 88 million views from all over the world.
Netflix announced the news through a series of tweets thanking their users. Thank you for making Bridgerton our biggest series ever”, tweeted Netflix. The series is based on Julia Quinn’s novels set in the competitive world of Regency era London’s Ton during the season, when debutantes are presented at court. The drama centers on the Bridgerton family: Violet, Dowager Viscountess Bridgerton; her four sons, Anthony, Benedict, Colin and Gregory and her four daughters, Daphne, Eloise, Francesca and Hyacinth. Also featured are the Featheringtons: Portia, Lady Featherington; her husband the Baron; their three daughters, Philippa, Prudence and Penelope; and their cousin Marina Thompson.
The first episode of Bridgerton was released on 25 December 2020. The series is created by Chris Van dusen with Regé-Jean Page and Phoebe Dynevor in lead roles. It consists of 8 episodes in total.
