Rumors surrounding Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay’s potential entry into politics have gained momentum following his meeting with the office bearers of his fan group, Vijay Makkal Iyakkam, at his farmhouse in Panayoor. During the meeting, Vijay reportedly informed the attendees about his decision to retire from the film industry and dedicate himself entirely to politics. Those present expressed their unwavering support for all of Vijay’s future endeavours.

But contrarily, some participants at the meeting stated that Vijay did not disclose any immediate plans regarding his entry into politics. They dismissed rumors circulating about a three-year hiatus from the film industry to concentrate on political endeavors.

Around 300 individuals from different districts across the state attended the meeting, which took place in person and included office bearers from each assembly constituency. The discussions also focused on devising strategies to engage and attract young voters. Vijay has planned to meet with officials from the Vijay Makkal Iyakkam in all 234 constituencies. On Tuesday, he held a meeting with 115 officials from 15 districts, and further discussions are scheduled to continue on a later date.

According to reports, Vijay is reportedly considering taking a break from the film industry and venturing into politics, aiming for the 2026 elections. In a recent event, Vijay felicitated students who achieved outstanding scores in the 10th and Plus 2 examinations from all assembly constituencies in the state.
