The public eye is now turning to a group of remarkable actors who illuminated the South Indian cinema during its emergence in the 80s, as their picture gains traction on social media. These individuals are all iconic stars who have left a lasting mark in the realm of South Indian cinema. What sets them apart is their emphasis on genuine friendship in their personal lives, surpassing the vibrant performances on the silver screen and rising above career competition. Fueled by this friendship, they initiated the association known as “Eighties Club” or “Evergreen Club 80.”

The members of the club make it a point to gather and cherish their friendship during birthdays and special occasions, creating heartwarming moments. These cherished pictures of beloved stars together are warmly embraced by their fans. One such captivating group photo is currently making waves on social media. The picture features esteemed film stars like Suhasini Mani Ratnam, Rahman, Radhika Sarathkumar, Poornima Bhagyaraj, Revathi, Lissy, Khushbu Sundar, Shobhana, and Bhanu Chander.

Purnima’s heartfelt caption alongside the picture read, “Meeting my dear friends feels like a rejuvenation of life.” The 80’s Club comprises a stellar lineup of actors from the golden era of the Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam film industries, including Suhasini, Lissy, Khushbu, Shobhana, Revathi, Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Mohanlal, Venkatesh, Sathyaraj, Prabhu, Poonam Dhillon, Radha, Sumalatha, Ambarish, Swapna, Menaka, Parvathy, Jayaram, Karthik, Mukesh, Pratap Pothan, Mohan, Suresh, Shankar, Ambika, Ramesh Arvind, Naresh, Bhagyaraj, Purnima, Bhagyaraj, Chiranjeevi, Suman, Nadia Moitu, Rahman, Rajkumar, Saritha, Jayasudha, Jackie, Radhika Sarathkumar, and Ramya Krishnan.

The formation of this reunion can be credited to Suhasini Mani Ratnam and Lissy, who took the initiative back in 2009. Initially, South Indian stars came together at Suhasini’s residence to discuss the Chennai International Film Festival. Little did they know that this gathering would lay the foundation for a close-knit group. Suhasini had mentioned in a previous interview that it was from this very meeting that the idea of forming such a cherished and influential group emerged.
