Thiruvananthapuram: The film ‘Article 370,’ starring actress Yami Gautam, had hit the screens yesterday. After the first screening, it garnered widespread acclaim for narrating a tale based on true incidents that occurred in Bharat. Directed by debutant filmmaker Aditya Suhas Jambhale, the film delves into the decision made by the central government on August 5, 2019, to revoke the special status of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Sacnilk.com, a trade website reporting on box-office collections, ‘Article 370’ has amassed Rs 5.75 crore in Bharat on its first day.
With Yami Gautam in the lead role, supported by Priyamani and a talented ensemble cast, the movie provides viewers with a compelling glimpse into the events surrounding the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A, aimed at curbing separatism and terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. Critics and audiences alike have hailed Gautam’s performance as award-worthy.
Director Taran Adarsh called the film “power-packed” and “impactful,” highlighting its ability to captivate audiences while shedding light on the truth behind the historic move. The screenplay was written by Aditya Dhar, known for his work on ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike,’ and ‘Runway 34’. The flim was produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aditya Dhar, and Lokesh Dhar.
