Mumbai: In honour of the momentous 350th anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s coronation, an upcoming film titled ‘Bal Shivaji’ based on his illustrious life has been officially announced. Esteemed director Ravi Jadhav, known for his award-winning work, took to social media to unveil the captivating motion poster of the film.
‘Bal Shivaji’ is poised to become one of the grandest cinematic ventures in Marathi cinema, presenting a monumental scale production. The film will predominantly delve into the formative years of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj during his adolescence, offering a unique perspective on the legendary leader’s early life.
Notably, the talented actor Akash Thosar, who garnered acclaim for his role in the Marathi film ‘Sairat,’ has been roped in to portray the iconic character of Shivaji Maharaj. The film will be helmed by an ensemble of producers including Sandeep Singh, Sam Khan, Ravi Jadhav, Vishal Gurnani, Juhi Parekh Mehta, and Abhishek Vyas.
When asked about the project, producer Sandeep Singh shared his enthusiasm and said that, “Everyone knows Chhatrapatti Shivaji Maharaj. But little is known about Chhatrapatti Shivaji Maharaj’s formative years – his childhood. When Ravi Jadhavji narrated the story, I was mesmerised. The story is about mother and son and how Shivaji was brought up to be the world’s most fearless and brave warrior.”
Additionally, director Laxman Utekar recently unveiled details about his upcoming film starring Vicky Kaushal, which will focus on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the valiant son of Shivaji Maharaj and the second ruler of the Maratha Empire.
