Winter is here and our country has some of the most beautiful places to experience a white winter. Here is 5 places in India for you to visit during winter times

1. Auli, Uttarakhand

At an average height of 2800 meters, Auli in the Indian state of Uttarakhand is renowned for the fascinating ski resorts and stunning natural vistas. Bounded by the snowy peaks of the mighty Himalayas, this hilly terrain offers the sceneries of oak fringed slopes, coniferous forests, apple orchards and fine deodar trees and spectacular views of the lofty mountain ranges like Nanda Devi, Mana Paravat and Kamat Kamet.

2. Gulmarg, Jammu and Kashmir
Situated at an altitude of 2730 m above sea level, Gulmarg is a popular skiing destination located in Pir Panjal Range of Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Surrounded by snow-covered lofty Himalayas, meadows of flowers, deep ravines, evergreen forested valleys, Gulmarg also has the world’s second-highest Gondola ride.

3. Triund, Himachal Pradesh
Triund is a small hill station in the Kangra district in the state of Himachal Pradesh, India. Triund is a part of Dharamkot. Triund is at the foot of the Dhauladhar ranges and is at a height of 2,828 m.

4. Sar Pass, Himachal Pradesh
Huddled 13,700 ft. above sea level in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh, sits a snowy dream world that beckons herds of adventurers into its folds every year. Sar Pass is one of the most beautiful treks in India, and promises a medley of thick forests, sylvan meadows and roaring streams. Your first stop is Kasol, which is the base village for the trek. It is a beautiful hamlet reflecting Israeli culture, which makes it every backpackers’ dream destination.

5. Dhanaulti, Uttarakhand

The tinsel town of Dhanaulti is emerging as a popular winter destination because of its tranquil vistas and its proximity to Delhi and various other cities of Uttarakhand. This magical hill station is perched at an elevation of 2286 meters above sea level and offers panoramic views of the lofty Himalayas. Dhanaulti is located in the proximity of the popular hill stations of Uttarakhand such as Mussoorie, Tehri, Kanatal, and Chamba. This hilly town is enveloped by the velvety rhododendrons, deodar, and tall oak forests. Since the hill station heavy snowfall during winters, many tourists flock here in huge numbers.
