Palakkad: Yuvamorcha on Friday lodged a complaint against DYFI for insulting the Indian National flag. The flag was hoisted upside down by the DYFI protestors during the protests against hoisting of Jai Sreeram flex in the Palakkad Municipality. The act was in defiance of all the norms of Flag Code, 2002.
The DYFI protestors who climbed on top of the municipality building were holding the national flag upside down and hoisted it in the same manner.
Yuvamorcha District president Prashant Sivan lodged a complaint against the DYFI activists at the Palakkad Town South police station demanding action against the violators.
The DYFI’s flag hoisting was deliberately in defiance of certain criteria set out in the Indian Flag Act. It is alleged that the DYFI hoisted the flag in defiance of the rules that the flag should not be hoisted on the ground, water or in any manner that would cause damage to the flag.
