Thiruvananthapuram: Husband held responsible for the death of wife. Arun, 28, a newlywed has been taken to custody by the police over the death of his wife, Shakhakumari, twice his age, on Saturday at Karakonam area.
Arun and Shakhakumari had married only two months ago. Their marriage photos were leaked into social media and Arun was upset about it. There used to be frequent fights between them, says Reshma, Shikha’s homenurse.
Earlier the day, Arun informed the neighbours that Shakha received the electric shock and the neighbours took her to the hospital. From the hospital, the doctors informed that the death happened hours before she was rushed to the hospital.
The police was called in and Arun was taken into custody. Arun admitted that he electrocuted his wife. He was upset about the age gap between them. Shakha had also refused to give divorce. This led to the crime, said the Police.
