The Uttarakhand Government has decided to limit the Maha Kumbh Mela 2021 for 30 days, due to the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic. The Kumbh Mela will be held from April 1 to April 30, 2021.

“The Pilgrims will need passes for Kumbh Mela, which will be issued only after submitting a negative RT-PCR test report, medical certification and identification proof. Those without passes will not be allowed,” said C Ravishankar, Haridwar District Magistrate.

The district administration has requested for 70,000 doses of COVID 19 vaccine for the safety of the personnel posted on duty.

Under the campaign called ‘Paint My City’, walls, bridges, Government buildings and other places in Haridwar have been turned colourful by Hindu mythology-themed graffiti. This campaign is being run by Haridwar-Roorkee Development Authority.
