Maharashtra is one state recording more number of COVID 19 positive cases. The Karnataka Government has made it mandatory for passengers entering the state from Maharashtra to carry a negative RT-PCR test report. The RT-PCR test report should not be older than 72 hours.
“Around 4000-5000 positive cases are being recorded in Kerala and Maharashtra daily. Karnataka shares borders with both the states. To ensure the safety of everybody we have issued circulars that RT-PCR negative report is mandatory to enter Karnataka,” said Karnataka Health Minister Dr Sudhakar.
The Government circular added that the positive samples shall be sent to the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences laboratory for genomic sequencing.
