A day after Uttarakhand Chief Minister resigned from Chief Ministerial post, a meeting of the BJP legislature party was held today in which a new Chief Minister candidate was decided.
Tirath Singh Rawat, 56, will be the new chief minister of Uttarakhand. A BJP MP, he was the chief of the party in Uttarakhand from 2013 to 2015 and also an MLA from the state in the past.
Dhan Singh Rawat, Ajay Bhatt, Anil Baluni and Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank are the other contenders for the Chief Ministerial post.
Trivendra Singh Rawat on Tuesday submitted his resignation to Governor Baby Rani Maurya just days before his government’s fourth anniversary on March 17, 2021.
