Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his concern over the statistics of wastage of COVID 19 vaccine in the country.
Telangana and Andhra Pradesh topped the list with 17.6 and 11.6 percent of vaccine wastage respectively. India’s overall percentage of vaccine wastage is 6.4 percent.
“We have informed the states that vaccine wastage needs to be reduced. The states with rising number of COVID 19 cases have been told to do testing, tracking and treating in a more efficient manner,” said Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his disappointment at this waste of vaccines while speaking to Chief Ministers in the meeting that was held earlier in the day to discuss about the COVID 19 situation.
