Second phase polling is underway in 30 constituencies of West Bengal, 37.42 percent voter turnout has been recorded till 11:30 am. Though the situation has been tense in few areas, including Keshpur, Debra, and Ghatal, tight security in all the 30 constituencies averted any major incidents.

BJP candidate Suvendu Adhikari cast his vote in Nandigram, from where he is contesting for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

According to Election Commission of India , Paschim Medinipur recorded the highest turnout among districts and Narayangarh recorded higher turnout among constituencies.

BJP’s Mandal President of Debra constituency, Mohan Singh, was detained by the Police following a ruckus.

The constituencies where polls are being conducted include nine seats each in Purba and Paschim Medinipur districts, eight in Bankura and four in South 24 Parganas.
