The COVID-19 infection in the second wave seemed to have hit the 21-40 age group the most in Telangana.

Above 43 per cent of all the active cases reported in the state on Monday fall under the age group of 21-30 and 31-40 respectively followed by the 41-50 age group ( 17.6 %), state Director of Public Health Department said in its bulletin here on Tuesday.

The total number of active cases in the state stands as on April 26 at 69,221. The other top age groups that are impacted most are 51-60 years (14.5 per cent) and 11-20 years (10.5 per cent).

Also men seem to be the worst hit by Covid-19 as they constituted 61.5 per cent against females (38.5 per cent).

Setting a new record of Covid-19 cases in deaths as well as active cases, Telangana surpassed all previous records yesterday by registering a total of 10,122 cases and 52 deaths.

Out of total 10,122 positive cases, 6,446 people have recovered.
