Kollam: Additional District and Sessions court, Kollam has found S Kiran Kumar, Vismaya’s husband, guilty of the crime. Kiran Kumar convicted for dowry related death, domestic violence and abetting for suicide. Kiran’s bail plea has been cancelled and the court will pronounce the sentence tomorrow. Crimes imposed on Kiran includes dowry death, domestic violence, torturing, abetment to suicide, threatening and demanding dowry.
Vismaya, an Ayurveda medical student, was found dead under mysterious circumstances on 21 June, 2021 at the washroom in her marital home and soon after the incident police charged case against Kiran. Vismaya got married to Kiran on 30 May, 2020. Kiran Kumar was working as the Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector. Following her death, he was dismissed from the service .
Vismaya’s parents reached court today to hear the verdict. They told their daughter has got justice and they do expect the court will pronounce maximum possible punishment for Kiran.
