Kasarsgod: Mohammed Basheer, husband of Maimoona, residing at Koliyadukkam in Kasaragod has brutally attacked his wife demanding dowry. The incident took place last night during a heated argument between Mohammed and Maimoona. The accused tried to hit her head using a pan and while blocking his attack, he slapped Maimoona with wooden stick. Maimoona told he had hit her thrice and when trying to find another stick to beat again, she escaped.
Mohammed and Maimoona got married five years back. The husband used to assault her frequently. But she kept silent and suffered just thinking of her kids. Mohammed attacked her demanding dowry. His complaint was that the dowry given was not enough, and compelled her to bring more money from her mother and brother.
Maimoona suffered brutal assault from her husband. She was beaten inside a locked room and with belts.
