Ernakulam: Police seized gold that was smuggled through Nedumbassery airport. The accused Nishaj from Malappuram and Nabeel from Azhikkod were arrested.
The culprits were arrested while transporting gold in a car. As per plans, they were trying to bring the gold to Malappuram district and meanwhile Kodungalloor police arrested them.
The police recovered gold weighing about 1.5 kilograms and said, it is not sure how the accused escaped with the gold despite the rigorous surveillance.
The police had seized gold from Kannur Airport last day.
