Abu Dhabi: Dubai implemented strict actions against fake taxi services. Police have seized 41 vehicles. The police and the RTA seized the fake taxis from the Jebel Ali region and also arrested 39 people. Of the 39 arrested, 25 were illegally transporting passengers and 14 were taking people to fake taxis.
It is illegal to transport strangers and make them pay for the fake taxis. It is also illegal to give advertisements and attract the passengers to such vehicles, said officials.
RTA have already conducted studies and discovered the regions with high numbers of fake taxis.
In collaboration with Dubai police, RTI is planning to implement strict checking and to provide awareness in order to control such practices.
