Dispur: As water has receded from two more districts, there is a slight decrease in the intensity of the flood in Assam that snatched the life of 180 people. According to the current figures, 14 lakh people from 22 villages are affected by the flood including the death of a child reported in cachar district yesterday a total of 180 people have died due to flood and landslide . The search for a person who went missing is still going on.
According to the report of the state disaster management authority, Kachar District was the worst affected. 6.69 lakh people were affected by the flood. 3.63 lakh people are affected in Nagaon, 1.79 lakh in Morigaon and 56,021 in Barpeta.
325 relief camps and 51 relief distribution centers are functioning in 18 districts. Reports say that 1,55,271 people have been relocated. 40,000 hectares of crops were destroyed. Around 5.36 lakh pets were also affected by the flood.
