New Delhi: India again reported a case in monkeypox and this is for the first time the infection is identified in a woman. With this, the total number of cases in Delhi reached four.
She was admitted in the LNJP hospital due to fever and blisters on the skin. There is no sign of any foreign connections so far.
The ministry of health has advised that close contact with the patient would transmit the disease immediately. The patients should be isolated and sanitise or wash hands and use face masks once they come in contact with a patient, said the ministry.
Anyone with a history of foreign trips in the last 21 days should be kept under isolation if they develop symptoms like fever, headache or skin rashes. The central ministry of health has also informed that they can come out after making sure that they are not affected with the disease.
