Birmingham: India has won Gold medal in Mixed Doubles Table Tennis. Sharat Kamal – Akula Sreeja defeated Malaysia and won the medal. It’s the first time in the history that India achieved gold in Mixed Doubles Table Tennis. They defeated Malaysian competitors Javen Choong – Karen Lyne for 3-1.
Sharath – Sathyan team won silver in men’s doubles earlier. They defeated England’s Paul Drinkhall – Liam Pithford team. Sharath had also reached the men’s singles final.
Sreeja Akula won bronze in women’s singles. She defeated Australia’s Yangzi Liu for 3-4.
