Chandigarh: India achieved guinness record as thousands of people lined up as a fluttering national flag. Chandigarh University in association with NID Foundation spearheaded the record achievement as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

Over five thousand people lined up at the Sector 16 Stadium in Chandigarh to visualize the image of national flag. Thus the country beats the previous record of UAE. 5,885 people joined together in the form of a flying tricolor flag. The scene has set a record, informed Swapnil Dhangarikar who came on behalf of the Guinness authorities.

Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi was present on the occasion. Thousands of people huddled at the gallery of the cricket stadium to witness this record achievement.

As the country celebrates its 75th Independence Day, the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign was also launched today as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The national flag was hoisted in every house and institution. Many prominent people across political lines implemented Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement. As part of the campaign, the tricolor flag will be hoisted from today till August 15.
