New Delhi: The national capital is witnessing a wide range of celebrations amid 76th Independence Day. The Prime Minister reached at Red Fort and inspected the guard of honour. PM unfurled the tri colour from the rampart of the Red Fort . After the flag hoisting, Narendra Modi’s address began as per tradition.
The Prime Minister wished all citizens on Independence Day. The PM recalled the struggles of freedom fighters. Narendra Modi termed this day of Independence as ‘historic day’.
He recalled the sacrifices of leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Babasaheb Ambedkar,Veer Savarkar, Mangal Pandey, Tatya Tope, Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Chandrasekhar Azad, Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as well as the significant role of women warriors like Rani Laksmibai.
