Pune: Representatives from America visited Pune Serum Institute, which played a key role in India’s corona prevention. The visit was related to the 75th anniversary of bilateral co-operation between India and United States. The co-operation between the two countries in the field of health has reached a better level during the days of corona spread, remarked the American team.
The senior officials from the American Health Department met with Adhar Poonawala, CEO of Pune Serum Institute. The Novovax Nuvovaxide Vaccine, which was manufactured by the Serum Institute was widely used in US. India had shipped about 3.5 million vaccine doses to the US.
While the world was succumbing to Corona virus, India could save lives of thousands through it’s careful preventive measures. America wants India to participate in facing contemporary challenges that the health sector faces, said Petrishya Lasina, a member from the group.
