Daman: Cost Guard rescued fishermen from the sea. The fishing boat sank in Dadar Nagarhaveli Daman Due area. All the 14 workers were rescued by using helicopters and high speed boats.
Eleven people who fell from the boat into sea were first rescued. The other three people were rescued from boat by evening. The group, which was fishing off the coast of Gujarat, sank in the sea on its way to Mumbai. The Coast Guard received a phone message at 11.35 am.
The rescue operation was easy because the boat was a distance of 16 nautical miles from the coastal area of Daman. The engine of the boat got damaged in between the journey. With this the water that filled into the boat could not be pumped out and thus the boat sank.
