Mathura:  On the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is set to inaugurate Annapurna Bhawan on Friday where around 5,000 pilgrims visiting Mathura and Vrindavan will get free food daily.

Located on Mathura-Vrindavan Road in an area of 2,300 square meters, the double storied Annapurna Bhawan has been built by Uttar Pradesh Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad at the cost of Rs 4.89 crore. Nutritious food will be served to the devotees free of cost both in the morning and in the evening at the Annapurna Bhawan.

Annapurna Bhawan has two eateries, one on the ground floor and the other on the first. Both the restaurants are air conditioned. Two hundred people can eat at a time in both the eateries.

Provision has also been made for pure drinking water. There will also be a lift facility at the Bhawan.

The kitchen will be equipped with modern facilities, including two chapati making machines of stainless steel, which have the capacity to make 500 to 700 chapatis per hour. In addition, two dough kneading machines, two dough making machines, one potato peeler, one vegetable chopper, spice grinder and 2000 sets of utensils will be available for serving at the eateries.

Vice-President of Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad Shailja Kant Mishra said that Mathura, the birthplace of Lord Krishna, is visited by thousands of devotees every day and thousands of sages and saints stay here. “Keeping this in mind, on the proposal of Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad, the state government has decided to provide nutritious food free of cost to the devotees in the morning and evening,” he said.

Mangalmay Parivar Trust will run this restaurant. Mohit Vyas, representative of Mangalmay Trust said that in Annapurna Bhawan, arrangements would be made for nutritious and free full meals for the devotees.
