Kochi: Captain Nirmal Shivaraj, who died stranding in a flood , would be cremated today. His body will be taken to his home in Mamangalam by today evening and his cremation is scheduled at Pachalam Public Cemetery.
Nirmal’s car met with an accident while returning from Jabalpur after visiting his wife Lieutenant Gopi Chandra. Nirmal’s mother said that he used to send messages regularly and she became suspicious when no messages were received.
His car was found in a joint search by Madhya Pradesh Police, NDRF and the Army and later Nirmal’s body was found in a search that was held continuously.
He went missing three days ago and by tracing the tower location of his phone, police suspected him to be drowned in the flood.
