Lucknow: Police have started an investigation regarding the attack that occurred against a Shiva temple in Cholapur village, Varanasi.
The incident took place last day. It was first seen by some local residents who came over there to offer morning prayers. The assailants have vandalized the Shiva idol and disrupted the shrine premises. The shocking occurrence was immediately reported to the official authorities by the people and filed a complaint. According to the local residents, a person has been suspiciously visiting the temple for the past few days.
The locals came up with massive protests against the attack and demanded for an immediate arrest of the assailants.
