Palakkad: Two CPM activists were arrested in connection with raping a minor girl. The culprits Ajeesh, DYFI state worker, a native of Vilayodi, Parakkalam and his brother Ajaykhosh were arrested by the Meenakshipuram Police.
Ajeesh is a member of the Chintha library and his brother Ajayakhosh is an SFI activist. The rape was reported by the girl while she received a counselling arranged at the school. Police said that since last year, the girl has been threatened, mentally tortured and raped.
Both the culprits were presented before the court and remanded.
Meanwhile, Ajayghosh attempted suicide on the way to court after completing the medical check up. He had jumped over the court wall and attempted suicide by holding the nearby transformer. He was taken to the Taluk hospital and given primary care. After that he has shifted to the jail after completing a three hour observation.
