New Delhi: President Draupadi Murmu will honour the best teachers who have given remarkable contributions to the nation. Forty six teachers including Janus Jacob from Kerala will be honoured today. The function will be attended by the union educational minister Dharmendra Pradhan too. The programme that is arranged at the Viknjan Bhavan will be telecasted live in Doordarshan and Swayamprabha channels.
Janous Jacob is a teacher in Kendriya Vidyalaya, Thrissur. She got selected from the section of Sankhathan. The online selection process had three levels. The best teachers have been found under the leadership of the Central Education Ministry. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet the award winners.
It is since 2018, the nation started honouring the best teachers. The awards will be issued by the Ministry of Education at Vigyan Bhavan on September 5.
