Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala celebrates onam, the festival of unity and virtue, today. Keralites are busy getting ready to celebrate the festival with all its energy and the heavy and delicious onam feast ‘sadya’ adds more completion to the festival that is unique in its tradition and custom.
The state is on the peak of joy with onam dishes, new dresses and the flowerbeds that are fully decorated with vibrant flowers.
All educational institutions and work places celebrated Onam at its best this time. The Keralites are celebrating Onam after a long break due to the restrictions over the pandemic.
Here, in Kerala each and every house is waiting for the King Mahabali, who is supposed to come and meet his subjects on the day of onam.
Several functions have been organised in the state on this day. Today actor Suresh Gopi had Inaugurated the Onasadya organized by Seva Bharathi, for the patients in Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram that has been continuously taking place on every onam since last 25 years.
