Malappuram: As the items are not fully provided, the distribution of the Onam kit was blocked in Malappuram due to the strong protests from the locals. People complained that some of the items were missing from the kit.
ARD no: 116 shop at Mampad, Odaikal distributed the kit without the complete items that were mentioned. The distribution took place for those who did not receive it before Onam. People only received 11 items. They calculated the market amount of the given items and found that there are only items of 293 rupees in the 500 Rs worth kit. This provoked the people and they protested in the ration shop. Later, the shop owners managed to arrange the items that were left over in other PDS shops.
