Lucknow: The Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh approved the renaming of Faizabad Cantonment to Ayodhya Cantonment. An official notification about the decision will be declared the next day.
On the last day, Rajnath Singh announced the new name, Ayodhya cantonment which was earlier known as Faizabad cantonment. The new name was suggested by Lallu Singh, the MP of Ayodhya. Earlier, the name of Faizabad Railway Station had changed to Ayodhya Railway Station. In this background, the MP has suggested a new name for the cantonment too.
The name Faizabad was changed to Ayodhya during the 2018 Deepotsav. The announcement was made by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Recently the name Allahabad had been changed to Prayagraj.
