Ernakulam: Central Bureau of Investigation has sent a notice to M Shivashankar, the former Principal Secretary of the Chief Minister, in connection with the Life Mission scam. Shivashankar is asked to appear before the CBI office at 10 am tomorrow.
Shivashankar is called by the CBI for the first time for interrogation linked with Life Mission that alleges corruption in assigning the contract for flat construction and also, receiving commission. Swapna Suresh had alleged that the commission was shared between the officers of the UAE Consulate and M Shivashankar. The latter is called by the CBI for questioning in this regard.
Swapna had given statement to CBI that the corruption related to the Life Mission project was with the knowledge of Shivashankar. CBI has already collected all the documents and evidence of the case. Swapna Suresh and Sandeep Nair, the accused in the gold smuggling case, are also in the list of accused in the Life Mission scam.
