Absconding after mango theft; Police have intensified the search for accused Shihab

Idukki: The police have intensified their search for Shihab, a policeman, the accused in the mango theft case from the fruit shop. After the footage of the incident came out, Shihab is absconding. The police say that there is no information about him even after several days.

The police are conducting checks, including at relatives’ houses. It is also suspected that Shihab left the district after the incident. A case has been registered by the Kanjirappally police in the incident.

Shihab stole the mangoes on 30th of last month. He was returning from duty at Kottayam Medical College Hospital. Meanwhile, 10 kg of mangoes worth Rs 600 per kg were stolen. The incident was captured on the nearby CCTV.
