Kozhikode: CPM leader got suspended over the incident of attempting to molest CPI woman leader. CPM suspended K P Biju, a local committee member of Perambra on a complaint raised by a CPI woman leader.
Biju, who was also the President of Chowannur Panchayath, was suspended last day after the Perambra police filed a case on the incident. The suspension is for a period of one year.
As per the statement of the woman he tried to molest her inside the Panchayath hall. Initially the party took passive stand and the members also tried to save him. The CPM took action when this led to a huge protest.
