Mumbai: Police banned both the sale and usage of sky lamps in Mumbai. As per the official notification the ban is for one month starting from 16 this month. The ban will last till 14 November.
The Mumbai police had already clarified that the use of Sky lamps, also known by the name Chinese lamps, will be harmful for human life and security. The ban has been issued on Chinese lamps, as part of controlling anti-social activities in the city and nearby places.
The police decided to implement strong punishments against people who violate the rule. They clarified the punishment will be charged as per IPC Session 188.
