Chennai: Tamil Nadu Health Department has started an investigation into actress Nayanthara’s surrogacy case. A three-member team headed by the Joint Director of the Health Department is conducting the investigation.
Investigations are in progress at the hospital. After the investigation Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan will be interrogated if necessary, the health department officials said. The health department ordered an inquiry following a complaint that the actress became a mother without following the norms under the Surrogacy Control Act. It is reported that the treatment and delivery took place in a private hospital in Chennai. But this has not been confirmed.
Director Vignesh Sivan and Nayanthara got married last June after dating for seven years. There was a rumour that the children were born through surrogacy within four months of the marriage. The Tamil Nadu government ordered an inquiry.
