Thiruvananthapuram: Minister P Rajeev praised the Kerala Police. He said that the state has a police force with international standards. He said that the police actions will be corrected and will take appropriate decisions in case of any error.

Kerala police have an international standard of conducting investigations. They investigated cases including the incident of human sacrifice with efficiency. Kerala police have an extra ordinary power to conduct investigations. Minister said this while a huge protest is going on in the state against the atrocities of the police.

Currently, the Kerala police is facing criticism over the incident where a soldier and his brother were beaten up at the police station in Kilimanoor. Police called Vignesh, a DYFI leader, to take bail for a person but he refused to provide the bail after knowing the involvement of drugs in the case and this led to a verbal conflict.

Meanwhile, Vignesh’s brother Vishnu, a soldier, reached the station in search of his brother. The brothers were brought inside the station and beaten up brutally. The police charged a case over them that they had reached the station for a culprit involved in the MDMA case and attacked the police. Police also published this in the newspaper. They were imprisoned for 12 days and Vishnu’s marriage got broken. Including SHO, 4 people were suspended in relation to this incident.
