Kozhikode: Five-member gang arrested for playing cards with money in hotel room. 89,720 rupees were seized from the gambling gang in the investigation conducted on the basis of secret information. The police said that the gang used to play cards by booking rooms on rent at various hotels.
Accused also admitted that on some days more than one room was booked. It was also admitted that they would book rooms in prominent hotels of the city so that the police would not get suspicious.
Kasaba sub inspector S. Abhishek said that many people are playing cards in the hope that they will get back the money they lost by playing. The police investigation will continue in the coming days. The arrested accused was produced before the court.
