Thrissur: Massive liquor hunt in the district. Excise seized illegally transported Mahe liquor from Paliakkara toll plaza. 160 cases of Mahe liquor has been seized while transporting in a pickup van. In connection with the liquor hunt, Vishnu Prakash, a native of Thiruvananthapuram, was arrested by the Irinjalakkuda excise team.
Excise said that this is the biggest quantity of liquor seized in recent times. The liquor brought from Mahe was seized during the inspection. The excise and police conducting joint inspections in the areas related to drug trafficking.
Recently, the police seized 200 bottles of foreign liquor while smuggling from Chalakkudy to Ernakulam bars. Two people were arrested in connection with the incident. The liquor smuggled in the car was seized on the basis of secret information.
