Illegal appointment in Guruvayoor Devaswom Board; Violated reservation guidelines

Thrissur: The appointment for the temporary post in Guruvayoor Devaswom Board by violating the rules is continuing at its peak. The appointment is taking place by not considering the reservation guidelines and the rules.

Kerala Devaswom Recruitment Board is the appointed board for Devaswom Board appointments. But none of the temporary appointments in the Guruvayur Devaswom Board are made with the awareness of the Kerala Devaswom Recruitment Board. The rule is to include essential appointments in the Devaswom regulation. But top officials do not follow this. If the appointments are included in the Devaswom regulation, the Kerala Devaswom will have to report to the Recruitment Board. To avoid this, appointments are not informed to the Devaswom Regulation. Top officials appoint their own people to these vacancies.

Recently, the court had taken a case against depositing money in the Thulabharam Thatt (offering materials equivalent to one’s own weight) in the name of Dakshina during the weighing process and demanded a permanent system to prevent this. Then the Devaswom authorities tried to stop it by appointing temporary staff to look at the CCTV and so on. These appointments were made illegally. The rule is that these appointments should be left to the Kerala Devaswom Recruitment Board. But so far no steps have been taken to implement it. If CCTV monitoring becomes a permanent appointment, then the top officials of Devaswom will not be able to collect money through temporary appointments. It is also alleged that no action is taken until now.
