Lucknow: A pastor has been arrested for forcefully converting Hindus to Christianity, at Fatehpur district in U P.
The detained is Vijay Masih who was on the run in connection with another case of allegedly converting Hindus.
On secret inputs, the authorities held a search at the Hariharganj church in the city and arrested the accused. The pastor was secretly carrying out another mass conversion there.
The pastor used to attract poor families by offering help and give books on Christian religious lessons, thereby alluring them for conversion. And following this, he started threatening them for conversion.
Pastor, during interrogation admitted that he had conducted mass illegal conversion of a group of Hindus in a church.
Police had recovered several documents including Adhaar cards and identity cards, belonging to Hindus. The authorities told that more arrests will be recorded in the coming days as some others too are included in the conversion racket.
