Palakkad: A bottle exploded in the midst of the anti drug campaign programme. The explosion occurred while lightening a lamp symbolically. The incident injured both the children and teachers of P.C.A.L.P. school, at Kavassery, in Palakkad. The injured are admitted in the Thrissur Medical College and Alathur Taluk Hospital.
Headmistress Jessimol Mathew and a teacher named Sajida got injured. A bottle made out of paper exploded when it was set on fire. There are doubts whether the paper had been sprayed with sanitizer.
The State Government had organized various programs in association with the anti drug programme. In Thiruvananthapuram, CM Pinarayi Vijayan and others took a pledge against drugs and also formed a human chain.
