Gujarat Election 2022; Polling in December in two phases

New Delhi: Election date announced in Gujarat. Assembly elections for 182 seats will be held in two phases. The first phase of elections will be held on December 1 and the second phase will be on December 5.

The last date for submission of nomination papers for the first phase election is November 14 and the last date for the second phase is November 17. Scrutiny will be held November 15 and 18. The last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is November 17 and 21. Counting of votes will be held on December 8. Voting will be held in 89 constituencies in the first phase of elections. Polling will be held in 93 constituencies in the second phase.

There will be 51,782 polling stations in the state. 4.1 crore voters will cast their votes. Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar informed that 4.61 lakh people are maiden voters this time and 9.8 lakh people are above 80 years of age.

A polling station will be set up for the Siddhis community at Madhupur Jambur in Gir Somnath district. The Siddhis are East African people who migrated to the country in the 14th and 17th centuries. The Election Commission said that these are voters who make the country proud. Meanwhile, he also expressed his condolences to those who lost their lives in the Morbi suspension bridge accident. Gujarat has been ruled by the BJP government for 27 years. At present BJP has 99 MLAs in the state. Congress has 77 seats.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission had earlier announced that the assembly elections in Himachal Pradesh will be held on November 12 and counting on December 8.
