Thiruvananthapuram: Complaint to Vigilance Director regarding the illegal appointments in Thiruvananthapuram Corporation while the mayor’s letter related to appointment in temporary posts is in controversy. The complaint was filed by G S Sreekumar, a former councilor in the municipal council. The demand is to investigate all the appointments made in the Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation in the last 2 years. The complaint alleges that more than a thousand temporary appointments were made in the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation alone during two years and corruption of crores was done through this.

Meanwhile, the opposition has intensified its protest over the letter controversy. BJP state president  K Surendran has openly demanded the dismissal of the governing body headed by Arya Rajendran. He also criticized whether CPM District Secretary Anavoor Nagappan should fill the vacancies in the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation on a temporary basis.

The letter to Anavoor Nagappan has been sent on the official letter pad of the Mayor of Thiruvananthapuram. The party list asked for the appointment of 295 people. Contract recruitment was to Urban Primary Health Centres. Mayor Arya Rajendran sent the letter on the 1st of this month. The letter also includes a list of posts and vacancies.
