Thiruvananthapuram: The low pressure in the south-west Bay of Bengal near the north-east Sri Lankan coast has strengthened and turned into a severe low pressure. As a result of this, the Central Meteorological Centre has informed that there is a possibility of widespread isolated rain in the state from today till Monday. Heavy rain is also likely at isolated places.
The low pressure is moving towards the Tamil Nadu-Puducherry region moving in north-western direction. The Central Meteorological Department also said that low pressure will move over places like Puducherry, Tamil Nadu and Kerala in a west-northwest direction tomorrow and the next day.
